ANCOR VIP Educational/Cultural Tour Romania - Moldova - Prague
April 28-May 8, 2007
On behalf of ANCOR's International Committee, we're pleased to invite you to join us on ANCOR's first educational tour of programs and services abroad to Romania, Moldova and Prague, April 28-May 8th. This select educational tour is the culmination of months of dialogue and coordination. During that time, the International Committee has:
- Established a working relationship with Motivation Romania center on advocacy as a result of a consultation in October 2005
- Recruited our first group of international members from Moldova, Latvia, Romania and Russia, representatives of which attended our 2006 Management Practices Conference in Atlanta. These memberships were supported by sponsoring ANCOR members, which are anxious to network and develop new relationships with these international NGOs. These relationships will facilitate access to American members and their expertise as well as staff exchanges.
- This trip will take us to Romania and Moldova with a brief stop in Prague on the way home. During the visit you will have the opportunity to visit institutions, group homes, schools, day services and a recentlyconstructed camp in the mountains of Romania for children with disabilities, as well as meet and interact with direct support staff and foster care families. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the culture of these countries first-hand.
View the intinerary, review estimated tour costs, or visit the International Study Tour website where you can find many details pertaining to the tour.
We hope you will seriously consider this opportunity. We not only live in a global community, but also at a time when we need to assist others in their desire to secure rights and services for individuals with disabilities.
Please print, complete, and mail in your registration to indicate your interest in participating at your earliest opportunity.
